CALIFORNIA-STYLE SALMON BURGERS WITH AVOCADO AND GOAT CHEESE

We’re taking our Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers down south with the addition of some of our favorite California ingredients, including avocado, goat cheese, and a truly unparalleled green goddess sauce. Use half of the sauce to drizzle on your burgers and the other half to use as a dip for some well-seasoned oven baked fries and you’ve got yourself the perfect healthy meal.

INGREDIENTS

4 Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers, thawed

For the green goddess sauce:

  • ¾ cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup full fat mayonnaise
  • ½ cup fresh parsley leaves
  • ½ cup fresh chives
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Zest and juice of half of a lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Other ingredients:

  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Crumbled goat cheese
  • Red onion, sliced thin
  • 4 hamburger buns (we went with brioche)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Make your green goddess sauce by adding all sauce ingredients into a food processor and blending until smooth. Place in a bowl with a cover and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.
  2. Cook your Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers in the pan or on the grill to get a nice char, cooking with oil over medium high heat for 5-6 minutes on each side until burgers are fully cooked through. You can also bake your Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers in a 425 degree oven for 18-20 minutes.
  3. Lightly toast your buns, then build your burger. We like to drizzle on the green goddess sauce first, then top with sliced red onion and avocado and finish off with a sprinkling of goat cheese.
